USA Blind Hockey
During the summer of 2019, CABVI and USA Blind Hockey signed a three-year agreement to make Utica, NY the official home for the USA Blind Hockey training camp. Based on the agreement, the team will host their five-day training camp each summer from January 2019 through December 2021.

The players go through a rigorous training session with CABVI representatives to prepare for the exhibition game at the end of the training camp, and for their upcoming season. During the camp, the team attends various workshops that help them with their strength and conditioning, nutritional needs, skating skills, and which exercises to do during the off-season that will keep them in shape.

Learn to Skate / Learn to Play
On top of hosting the USA Blind National Hockey team each summer, CABVI offers a Learn to Skate / Learn to Play hockey program for any individual who is interested in either learning to skate or playing hockey. With typically two to four sessions a month, the Adaptive Sports and Recreation team has help from local high school hockey players, and volunteers, so that each one of our skaters can have a 1-on-1 instructor skating with them as they improve on their skills.

This is a great opportunity for individuals to get familiar with stepping on to the ice for the first time, but also for the skaters who are in full pads and learning the skills of the sport.
