Adaptive Sports Recreation

A key component of our comprehensive vision rehabilitation program is Adaptive Sports and Recreation (ASR). Through the engagement of sports and a variety of recreational activities, people who are blind or visually impaired improve their health and the quality of their lives. They achieve greater independence and more importantly, self-confidence.

CABVI offers a variety of athletic and recreational activities including, but not limited to:

  • Adaptive curling
  • Bowling
  • Ice hockey
  • Distance running
  • Yoga
  • Group fitness programs
  • Tandem biking
  • Art programs
  • Social gatherings

The Adaptive Sports and Recreation team work hard to create all sport and recreation activities to meet the needs of all individuals who are involved. The main goal is to allow for full participation, keeping the individuals safe, and learning new strengths or skills as they are involved in a sport or recreation/leisure activity.
