STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
Stock and maintain an accurate flow of product and materials from point of receipt, including transfer from other departments, to storage and shipping. Stage, load and unload finished product and raw materials.
Team player, adaptable to changing and ability to handle multiple priorities. Ability to learn and become proficient on small package processing, within 30 days of hire. Must be able to operate and become certified as a forklift operator within 30 days. Good math skills a must.
KEY JOB ELEMENTS
Accurately selects orders from inventory and completes appropriate paperwork accurately and legibly.
Prepares finished product for shipping applying appropriate labels as needed and shrink wraps the pallets.
Loads & Unloads trucks and containers by hand and pallet jacks and forklifts.
Selects and packages small parcel orders. Learns processing of UPS and Federal Express orders as needed. Able to run small parcel computerized system
Maintains a clean, orderly, efficient and safe warehousing environment.
Minimizes damaged product. Repacks and reboxes as necessary.
Applies product ID labels as assigned.
Moves waste to dumpsters or baler.
Completes other duties and projects as assigned.
Must have or develop the ability to work with all distribution personnel as a teammate on special assignments.
Must have good listening skills and ability to effectively communicate across the chain of command.
Familiarity with current operating system. Must be capable of learning as the job dictates.
Must have the ability to prioritize demands and respond accordingly. Must have the ability to adapt to constantly changing multiple priorities. Recognize problems in the warehouse that affect the efficiency and safety of warehousing environment. Bring these problems to management’s attention and work with management to find a resolution.
Frequently requires the ability to lift, sort & stack cartons weighing up to 50 lbs. and stand for long periods. Must have the ability to climb ladders and work at heights up to 25 feet above the floor. Good vision necessary. Unheated warehouse environment, noise is moderate to loud.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED required. Experience as needed.
