Job Title: Building Maintenance Assistant

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
Maintains the cleanliness of CABVI buildings to promote a professional appearance and a safe, healthy working environment.
Requires a high level of attention to detail, dependability, flexibility, communication, and organizational and time management skills. Must have the ability to coordinate and prioritize tasks.
KEY JOB ELEMENTS
Sweeps and mops all floors, vacuums all carpets in assigned work area. Strips, seals & waxes floors. Shampoos carpets as directed.
Dusts countertops, desks, tables, etc., and cleans all glass windows and doors in assigned work area.
Empties wastepaper baskets and cleans as necessary, keeping assigned area looking neat, clean and inviting.
Cleans, disinfects and polishes all commodes, urinals, and restroom fixtures. Refills all restroom dispensers.
Keeps building security a priority at all times.
Reports safety hazards, needed repairs and needed supplies to Building Facilities Manager.
Maintains cleanliness of Community Room and vending machine area.
Adapts to change and completes other duties as assigned.
Consistently achieves annual performance objectives.
Must read and write accurately. Must have good listening skills and ability to effectively communicate and follow oral and written instructions.
Must have knowledge of cleaning methods and procedures as well as the materials and equipment used in cleaning activities. Must have ability to properly and safely use power and hand cleaning equipment and chemicals.
Must have the ability to define problems, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Must be able to prioritize tasks.
Regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, climb or crawl. Vision abilities include color vision, close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus. Routinely must lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the key job elements.
In-house position. Noise level is moderate to loud. Must be available for evening and weekend work dependant upon Agency need. Must be able to work in other locations as needed.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school graduate or GED preferred; or one to three months’ related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
