Our volunteer team, an amazing group that numbers more than 250, plays a vital role at CABVI. They give of their time and talent in a variety of ways. They serve on boards of directors or advisory councils, transcribe books and text into Braille, screen preschoolers for vision problems, visit consumers and assist with fund raising projects or clerical assignments. Our dedicated volunteers make a real difference and the experience can be so rewarding that entire families become involved. Several sons and daughters of former volunteers have carried on the gift of giving their time because they believe in CABVI's mission and want to contribute to the agency's success. It's your heart and soul that make you a volunteer. Ours are true champions to this organization and we appreciate and honor each of our volunteer heroes.

When and where would I volunteer? The time you volunteer for CABVI is very flexible. There are several options in terms of location. We welcome volunteers starting at 14 years of age. Some volunteers work directly with our consumers in the consumer's home while others serve at our corporate offices on Kent Street in Utica. We also have volunteers who work for CABVI in their homes.
